Notably, he emerged as the best outgoing student at the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital and Postgraduate Training Institute, where he excelled in the International Council of Ophthalmology assessment exams.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Atheeshwardas has garnered numerous accolades, including the Young Achiever award in the Digambar Jain Community and the Dr. G. Venkataswamy Gold Medal for the highest marks in the DNB exam at the national level. As a high-volume cataract surgeon, he was appointed by the Ministry of Health, Govt. of India, to perform surgeries in remote areas of North Eastern India. With over 25,000 cataract surgeries, 500 LASIK procedures, and 3,500 Vitreo Retinal surgeries to his credit, Dr. Atheeshwardas is a pioneer in comprehensive ophthalmic care. With a stellar academic background, including an MBBS from Government Medical College and an MS in Ophthalmology from Madras Medical College, Dr. Atheeshwar has solidified her reputation as a distinguished professional in the field. Specializing in cataract and squint surgeries, her expertise extends to the delicate realm of Pediatric Ophthalmology. Boasting an impressive 13-year career in comprehensive ophthalmology, she is also a seasoned practitioner in contact lens fittings.

Dr. Atheeshwar’s commitment to advancing eye care is evident in her dedication to ‘Myopia control’ in pediatric patients. Her ongoing work includes the dispensing of special myopia control spectacle lenses, low-dose Atropine therapy, and Orthokeratology contact lenses. As a testament to her academic prowess, she served on the Editorial Board of the Residents’ Journal of Ophthalmology and continues her editorial contributions to the Tamil Nadu Journal of Ophthalmic Science and Research. At Medicare Eye Hospital, our exceptional team is also joined by the seasoned expertise of Dr. V Jinadas, a distinguished septuagenarian physician with an illustrious career spanning over 40 years. Hailing from a humble background in Kannalam near Chennai, Dr. Jinadas has not only risen as the first-generation doctor in his family but also as the pioneering male doctor in the Tamil Jain community. His journey began with a strong academic foundation at Madras Christian College School, followed by his medical education at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Karnataka, where he achieved the remarkable feat of clearing his MD (General Medicine) post-graduation exams in the first attempt.

Returning to Chennai in 1981, Dr. Jinadas established his private practice at Medicare Clinic, which has thrived under his guidance ever since. Beyond his commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to all, he has dedicated a significant portion of his career to serving the underprivileged, exemplified by his 12-year tenure as an Honorary Assistant Physician at VHS Medical Centre from 1980 to 1992.

Dr. Jinadas’s journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and excellence. Having undergone training in Intensive Care Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, he has been instrumental in the success of Fortis Malar Hospital, where he serves as the Chief Physician in the Medicine Department. His dedication to medical education is evident through his role as a mentor, guiding and inspiring young physicians. With a passion for continuous learning and a commitment to patient care.
