Glaucoma Service
Glaucoma, a major cause of vision impairment, leads to increased pressure within the eye, which can damage the optic nerve if left unchecked. This inherited condition typically progresses silently, initially affecting peripheral vision without noticeable symptoms until it gradually advances towards the centre. Unfortunately, once vision is lost, it cannot be recovered.
Early detection and timely intervention are critical in preventing irreversible blindness. At our facility, we use the latest diagnostic technologies to accurately identify glaucoma in its early stages.
Treatments Available
- Medical Management: We prescribe eye drops that reduce fluid production and enhance drainage, effectively managing the pressure within your eye.
- Surgical Solutions: Our surgical options include microsurgery and laser surgery, designed to improve fluid drainage and prevent further damage to your optic nerve.
